Online Counselling for Parents of Newborns through to Teenagers
Are you lying awake worrying about your child? Questioning every decision you make as a parent? Do you feel like no one really understands what you're going through? If this sounds familiar, you don't have to cope alone.
Parenting doesn’t always turn out the way you expected
Maybe you're finding the early days harder than you imagined. Perhaps your relationship with your teenager has changed, or you're navigating the challenges that come with raising a neurodivergent child. Whatever is going on, counselling can give you the space to talk about what life is really like for you.

The early days
The postnatal period can bring huge changes, emotionally, physically, and in your relationships. Perhaps you're feeling anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected or simply not quite like yourself.

Teenage years
Teenage years can bring new challenges, big emotions and changes in your relationship. It can sometimes feel difficult to know how to support them while managing your own feelings too.

Neurodiversity
From navigating appointments, school and daily life to managing everyone's needs, there can be a lot to carry. This is a space to talk about how it affects you.

Online support for Parents struggling with the emotional impact of parenting.
Parenting can be joyful, meaningful, and deeply rewarding.
It can also feel like it's all too much, lonely, exhausting, and far harder than you expected.
Many of the parents I work with feel guilty for struggling at all. They tell themselves they should be coping better, being more patient, more grateful, or simply managing everything more easily than they are.
Hi I'm Claire
I'm an integrative counsellor, mum, and founder of Silver Tree Counselling Service
I know first-hand that parenting can be wonderful and incredibly hard, sometimes all at once. My aim is to offer a space where you don't have to pretend you've got everything together.
Counselling with me isn't about knowing exactly what to say. I don't expect you to have the right words the moment you arrive.
You don't need to convince me you're struggling "enough."
You don't need to explain why parenting can feel both wonderful and overwhelming.
This is the work I do every day.
I’m not here to tell you how to parent, I’m here to support the person doing the parenting.

How Counselling can help with feeling less alone, understand emotions, and make positive lasting changes.
I know reaching out for counselling can feel nerve-wracking and daunting. I aim to offer a warm, relaxing, and welcoming space to explore your thoughts and feelings.
Therapy isn't about me giving advice, or having me tell you how I would handle it, or being made to feel like your problems aren't that bad, really. It's about building enough trust in me to finally say what's actually going on, honestly, without editing yourself, and being heard without being judged.
When you talk something through properly, rather than carrying it alone, something shifts. Things that felt tangled start to feel clearer. You begin to understand yourself a little better. Why you feel the way you do, why you react in certain ways, and what might be sitting underneath it all. That understanding is where things start to change.
You don't have to keep going round in circles on your own. I'm here to go round in circles with you.
Testimonials

" Therapy with Claire helped me to see that some of my parenting worries were rooted in what my younger self had missed out on. Understanding this helped me recognise the impact it was having on my parenting and to have more compassion for myself. I now feel more confident and am kinder to myself."

" Claire supported me in making sense of a difficult relationship with my mum and understanding how it shaped me. Through counselling, I developed healthier boundaries, felt more confident in myself, no longer affected by old patterns. The relationship now feels much healthier and more balanced."

" Counselling helped me understand how unresolved birth trauma was contributing to my anxiety as a parent. I was constantly worried about my child's safety, found it difficult to be apart from them, and often felt overwhelmed in crowded places. Counselling helped me make sense of these experiences, build my confidence, and feel much calmer in day-to-day life - Thanks, Claire!"
